ASWEDO Building New Dynamics for the Rescue of Vulnerable Women and Girls in Cameroon.
Aspired Women Empowerment and Development Organization known by the acronym (ASWEDO), is being lead and promoted by Mrs. Lilian Akwen, who in a recent press briefing has unveiled new Dynamics in securing peace, the most needed gold in the regions most hit by the ongoing civil crisis.
In her presentation, Lilian Akwen exposed to Journalists this Wednesday 15th at her head office at hospital round about in Bamenda, her dynamics and strategic processes to see that the vulnerable are rescued and protected from social, domestic and traditional practices that endangers the life of these young women by facing the arm of the law where justice takes its course. The CEO of ASWEDO Organization did not end at the level of GBV but furthers on the sufferings these young women and girls face each day of their life, in desperation, the challenges being exposed to, from the ongoing conflicts in the regions , amidst some traditional norms still being practiced by some communities which need the wrath of the law, ASWEDO will come for them! The internally displaced women and girls are going through lots of harsh situations, rape, forceful marriages and economic hardship being manipulated by some top ranking political bigwigs who are the sponsors of the arm conflicts rigging havoc across the national territory, the CEO told media men and women in her press briefing .
She further reiterated that GBV, FGM, Breast Ironing are some of the least seen in some of our communities in Cameroon which has prompted ASWEDO to step up this new dynamics to bridge these gap so as to bring justice and restore peace, through the continues training and Empowerment of these vulnerable women and girls by setting up new and sustainable approaches for income generation activities to boost their economic independence and fight for their individual and collective rights for their communities. “ we give conscience in what you do to others should reflect what you deserved “.
In her actions to realized these goals , ASWEDO continues to seek partnerships and funders as well as well wishers in and out of the country to support these loadable initiative that is one of its kind in Country.
However, it should be noted that the organization’s efforts are not limited to these strategic initiatives but goes beyond these scoop, but transcending culture of peace to humanity through regular field work consultations to communities hit by the crisis, most especially in the northwest and southwest regions of Cameroon.
